Otoplasty
Otoplasty / surgery of the earChildren up to about the age of 14 undergo the operation under general anesthesia. On adults the operation can also be performed, entirely without pain, with local anesthesia.
Because an incision is made in a natural fold behind the ear, there are no visible scars after the operation. Thanks to a special surgical technique, it is usually possible (depending on the deformity) to restore the ear to a completely natural shape. The patient must wear an ear dressing for approximately three days following the operation. The stitches are removed after one week. Post-operative swelling disappears completely after about two weeks.
